Vacancies at North Oxford Association

Treasurer:  NOA is looking for an Honorary Treasurer to join the friendly team of volunteers at the North Oxford Association Community Centre and support the Centre Manager.  This is a great opportunity to work with a vibrant local community association, to share your skills, experience and enthusiasm. Although voluntary, this role is hugely important for the charity. Training for the Xero accounting system will be provided if necessary.

Role:
• Provide an overview of, and manage, NOA’s finances in accordance with current Charity Commission guidelines.
• Liaise with auditors on questions arising in connection with the preparation of the annual accounts.
• Advise on and set financial policy in consultation with other Trustees via reports to NOA’s Council and the presentation of the Annual Report and Accounts to the AGM.
• Ensure adequate day-to-day financial processes are in place in association with the two NOA staff (a paid accountant oversees salaries and a paid auditor prepares the annual accounts).
• Provide guidance to trustees in respect of major expenditure proposals, such as salaries and premises' charge levels.
• Advise and review sources of income, and support the Centre Manager with grant applications.

Time involved: Approximately 3 hours a week (ideally some on site), with additional attendance at quarterly management meetings (usually held around 5pm) and the annual presentation of accounts at the AGM.

Applications or more information:
• trustee@northoxfordassociation.org.uk
• pop into the centre Mon - Fri, 10am – 4pm
